2020 Hokkaido Selection Sale Preview
The 2020 Hokkaido Selection Sale was postponed after the initial spike of COVID-19 in the spring, moved back a month from July 21st to August 24th, the day before the Hokkaido Summer Sale. While a new spike in COVID-19 is currently ongoing in Japan, the sale is still on the calendar with safety precautions being made to ensure those two attend the sale is limited to active participants.

2013 HBA Selection Yearling Sale finished with an aggregate of JPY1,175,135,000 (approx. US$1.2 million), 10% more than the result of 2012.
While the average was very similar at JPY12,252,692 (approx. US$122K), the clearance rate was 63.84% slightly better than last year. The top priced yearling was Lot 233, a colt by King Kamehameha out of a stakes winning Sunday Silence mare in Azuma Sanders.
The colt was purchased by Mr Riichi Kondo at JPY48,300,000 approx. US$475K.
Next Sale is the HBA Summer Sale which will be held in Shizunai from the 19th to 22nd of August.
Average of the sale is around US$50K every year with more than 1000 yearlings to be entered.
